Over the next couple of weeks we will have an enormous amount of eco data coming in. With this being the last week of the month, there will be a lot of attention paid to the manufacturing numbers as there have been some signs of stabilization from the recent trend lower.
Before any of this hits, the tally from the shopping frenzy over the weekend will be the biggest driver for retail and related consumer stocks. As has been the case in the past, most initial reports will show a significant improvement over the past year and above expectations. However, the final numbers don’t usually stand up to the first tallies. Go figure…
