One of the reasons was the level above the 10-month moving average as opposed to the historical levels that are under- or over-valued.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/spx_monthlky-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7325 aligncenter\" title=\"spx_monthlky\" src=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/spx_monthlky-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"602\" height=\"374\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now the S&amp;P 500 is bouncing off of its 50-day <!--more-->moving average as it came crashing through the 20 .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/spx_daily-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7324 aligncenter\" title=\"spx_daily\" src=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/spx_daily-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"508\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For now, this will be a battle zone as the bulls have had the upper hand of a while and the bears are looking to gain some momentum.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, late rallies have been the usual course, making up for a portion of losses. Most days, broad indicies close well off their lows as buy-on-the-dip mentality continues.<\/p>\n<p>Momentum is favoring the bears as volume is picking up sharply.
