The first chart displays the performance spread between the S&amp;P 500 index, which<!--more--> is capitalization weighted to the same index with an equal weighting of all constituents.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cap_trend-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-22024 aligncenter\" title=\"cap_trend\" src=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/cap_trend-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"577\" height=\"365\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Basically, when the line is below zero and red, the mega-caps are probably dragging down performance.
