However, just the day before, I was reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcoscillator.com\/\"><strong>Tom McClellan&#8217;s daily commentar<\/strong><\/a>y which explicitly stated that only parts of the equation that make up the signal had been confirmed. Conflict and confusion&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.stockcharts.com\/dont_ignore_this_chart\/2012\/07\/hindenburg-omen-triggers-as-new-lows-surge-nyhl-nahl-nya.html#.UBAhVPVdCnA\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The first article<\/strong><\/a> I read stated the indicator was triggered was written by <!--more-->StockCharts.com. Aurthur Hill, a noted technical analyst put out a post that showed the various reasoning as to why the <em>Omen <\/em>was now active.<\/p>\n<p>The day before, blogger Andrew Thrasher <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forexpros.com\/analysis\/confirmed-hindenburg-omen-130563\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>wrote about it on ForexPros<\/strong><\/a>, confirming it as well.<\/p>\n<p>However, after looking at the charts and indicator that I follow, I disagree.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a chart and indicator created by the technical chart team at Bloomberg. I conferred with Bill Sindel (my tech\/chart guru) and he agreed that the indicator was <strong>NOT<\/strong> triggered. (It would have a colored notation above the date on the chart)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/hinden-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19812 aligncenter\" title=\"hinden\" src=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/hinden-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"439\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom McClellan also confirmed in an email to me that the conditions were not met. Referring to the Aurthur Hill, Stockcharts.com article:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;One of the criteria cited in that article is incorrect. \u00a0 He states that $NYA was above its 50MA, but that is not the correct criterion as published by James Miekka. \u00a0 Instead, the criterion is that this 50MA (or 10-week MA of weekly closes) has to be rising, which it was not.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This does not preclude the condition of NH and NL both exceeding the threshold from being bad news. \u00a0 It just means that it does not qualify<\/em><br \/>\n<em>as a Hindenburg Omen event.&#8221; \u00a0 \u00a0 Tom McClellan<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So, we can all breathe a little easier I suppose.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night I was reading some interesting commentary that stated that the Hindenburg Omen, a somewhat obscure technical indicator, had been triggered.
