Fears about what will happen when markets resume on Tuesday without a resolution to the EuroZone saga remain high.<\/p>\n<p>The Euro touched below $1.25 last week and closed at a 22 month <!--more-->low. For what it is worth, U.S. equity markets held up pretty well last week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/markets-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19100\" title=\"markets\" src=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/markets-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"562\" height=\"167\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The dollar ramped higher by 1.3%, but the VIX dropped by 13%. Interesting how the move above $82 for the U.S. dollar index has not caused more damage to stocks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/curr-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19101\" title=\"curr\" src=\"https:\/\/thedisciplinedinvestor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/curr-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"459\" height=\"261\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, defensive sectors are holding up much better. Telecom, Utilities and staples are the clear winners of the week.
