The CFTC report on holdings of traders is updated weekly. Since it is only a report that comes out each week, rather than daily – its use can only be looked at a a general gauge. But, it is good to know what the pros are doing – as compared to the “retail” investor. Often times, we can look at the retail component as a contrary indicator and the “pros” as a pre-cursor for the coming trend.<\/p>\n

It appears that the retail levels for the S&P 500 e-mini’s have come up and the pros have flattened their positions and are moving toward larger short exposure.<\/p>\n
